Preserving History

Community members in Taloyoak describe an area near town that had many stories connected with.

Many were considered to be ghost stories, and the community wanted to learn whether archaeological evidence could match and support any of the information told in those stories.

Inuit Heritage Trust was contacted and the Taloyoak archaeological and Oral History Project was proposed.

Explore the community of Taloyoak and the role of Inuit Heritage Trust in protection of Nunavut's heritage. The project introduction will provide an overview of the project, the involvement of the community and the goals for the project.
